The 2011 IWF World Weightlifting Championships this year will be held at Disneyland Paris, France. Below you will find relevant information regarding these Championships.
Competition Rules and Regulations The competition will be held in accordance with the IWF Handbook rules & regulations of the Handbook 2009-2012. The 2011 WWC will also be a Main Qualification Event for the 2012 London Olympic Games. Please refer to the "Olympic Qualification System". Only IWF affiliated National Weightlifting Federations/Associations are eligible to participate in the Championships.
Awards Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded in each bodyweight category for both men and women in Snatch, Clean & Jerk and Total. Trophies will be awarded to the best six teams in total respectively for both women's and men's competitions in accordance with the IWF Team Classification. Best lifter trophies will be awarded in both women's and men's events. Certificates of participation will be presented to all participants.

Preliminary Entries Preliminary Entry Forms must be submitted to the IWF no later than September 1, 2011
Final Entries The Final Entry Forms must be returned to the IWF no later than October 1, 2011.
Accreditation Upon arrival, delegations will receive accreditations. Passport photos in color shall be submitted when you send your final entry forms at the latest (athletes and officials).
Barbells ELEIKO barbells will be used at these Championships.
Competition Venue The competition venue is the Dome Disney Village.
Training Venue Training venue is at the Disney’s® Newport Bay Club Hotel (Portland).
Financial Condition An Entry Fee of US$ 250 per person (including US$ 50 Special Anti-Doping Fee) shall be paid by each delegation for all their athletes and officials. All payment must be made by bank transfer at the latest 2 weeks before the start of the competition or in cash to the Organization Committee upon their arrival at the accreditation. Accommodation Accommodation will be at the Disney’s Sequoïa Lodge Hotel, Disney’s Newport Bay Club hotel, Disney’s New York Hotel and Disney’s Santa Fe Hotel conveniently located in the Disneyland Paris Village. Hotels offer easy access to Disneyland Paris Village, Disneyland Paris parks and are within walking distance of competition and training venues. Accommodation will be provided from November 1st to 14th only.

Please note that accommodation shall be paid upon arrival at the Organizing Committee accreditation desk (Hotel New Port) or by bank transfer at the latest 2 weeks before the start of the competition.
Transport Local transportation will be provided from Orly and Charles de Gaulle airports to hotels upon the arrival of delegations. Direct trains can arrive at the Disneyland Train station.
Visas All participants must check if a visa is required for their entry in France. Health Insurance As per IWF Regulation, each delegation is required to have the appropriate Health Insurance in the event of an accident or unforeseen circumstance. All participants will have to be under insurance coverage for travel and accident by their respective Federation before their departure The Organizing Committee is not responsible for accidents.
Doping Control Doping control will be conducted during the competition in accordance with the IWF Anti-Doping Policy.
General Information Average temperature in Paris during Championships: 5-10°C. Electricity supply in France runs on 220V.
